We were founded in 2000 as the European arm of Benchmark Capital. Since then we have made over 100 investments into tech/media startups, across Europe, North America & China. Successful exits to date include MySQL (to Sun), Betfair (IPO), Lovefilm (to Amazon), Yoox (IPO) & Bebo (to AOL).
Some of the aspects which differentiate us from other VC firms are:
- Operational experience - our partners have founded companies, grown them to thousands of employees & taken them through IPO and M&A
- International scope – we are based in London, but our six investment partners come from five different countries, with extensive experience across the US, Europe & Asia
- Equal partnership – we all share equally in our companies’ success – so entrepreneurs get the benefit of our entire team
- Significant resources – we manage ~$1.9bn, and so can support a company over the long term from its early stages to maturity
- Long-term focus – our aim is to help build long-lasting great companies.
