Ulla McGee

Vice President, Mobile Products at PCWorld Communications and Mac Publishing, two IDG companies in San Francisco, CA.

BIOGRAPHY

In her role, Ulla is in charge of mobile strategy, product and business development, and marketing. This includes developing websites and apps for smartphones and tablets across several mobile platforms,
utilizing in-house as well as outsourced resources. She also manages a central resource for mobile development and intelligence within IDG, which allows all business units in this famously decentralized company to share mobile knowledge, references, best practices, and development tools.

An IDG veteran, Ulla has worked as Vice President of Business Development prior to her current role. In this position, she negotiated and oversaw management of business partnerships with companies like Google, Microsoft, Yahoo, and AOL. She was instrumental in getting PCWorld’s strategy for reaching small and medium sized businesses off the ground.

A winner of last year’s MIN Media Business Innovator award, Ulla is a graduate of the Catholic School of Journalism in Munich as well as Stanford University. She is a member of the IAB mobile marketing center of excellence and the Online Publisher Association’s mobile committee.
