BIOGRAPHY

Chief Executive Officer and Publishing Director at Le Figaro, Francis Morel, 60 years old, began his career in the newspaper France Soir as Marketing Director 1977-1979.

After the takeover of the newspaper by Hachette, he became CEO of Edi 7 ( Hachette group) until 1984.

In 1987, he joined the Editions Mondiales (known today as EMAP) as President of the group until 1995. He became then President of TF1 International from 1996 to 1997.

In 1997, he bought the TV Magazine that he sold to the Axel Springer Group in 2001 before becoming President of the French unit of the Group until end of 2003.

Since 2004, he has been CEO at The Group Figaro. He is also President of the SPQN (the Syndicate of the French daily national press).
