Svida Alisjahbana

President Director/CEO, Femina Group

BIOGRAPHY

Svida Alisjahbana is the President Director and CEO of Femina Group,the leading women and lifestyle publishing house in Indonesia   Svida’s career in the publishing industry began as Commercial Director, responsible for the operational and directing the group’s future directions, include working on strategic initiatives on variety of activations and multi digital platforms.  Two of her initiatives became important events for the nation:  femina’s Women Entrepreneurship Program and Jakarta Fashion Week. 

Prior joining Femina Group she worked for GE Capital in Connecticut for five years.  Svida  obtained her bachelors degree in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor in 1988 and continued her MBA degree at Columbia University, New York.

Svida sits as the Chair of the Magazine Section for the Indonesian Press Association.  She is serving as Member of the Board of Management of The International Federation of the Periodical Press (FIPP) since 2008.  In 2011, she is one of the Founding Board Member of Endeavor Indonesia and also member of its Executive Committee.   She is also active in the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), her current role is The Regional (SE Asia) Education Chair until 2013.  She was a Fellow at the Women’s Leadership Program 2010, Eisenhower Fellowship.  A mother of twin boys, Svida also loves reading, cooking and traveling.

The Femina Group was established 40 years ago by the Alisjahbana family with the launching of a women’s magazine called Femina.  That was the first modern women’s magazine in Indonesia, which remains the market leader for women’s titles to this day.
